It’s that time of year again! Finally the warmer weather is coming and beautiful days are ahead. But…along with Spring comes those itchy noses and watery eyes and can’t forget the non-stop sneezing! If anyone else suffers from seasonal issues, you KNOW what I am talking about. Luckily for me, I do not have these issues, but my husband and my son who is three have these issues every time the seasons change. I hated having to give my 3 yr old over the counter medications every day. Some would make him so drowsy and we just couldn’t enjoy the outdoors without a long night ahead of us.
Thankfully, I found an alternative with Young Living Essential Oils. We now use Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint essential oils during every change in the seasons! This has helped tremendously!
All we do is diffuse 2-3 drops of each Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint essential oil a few times a day. If you are on the go and do not have a car diffuser you can simply create your own! Just add a few drops of each essential oil to a cotton ball and place them in your vents! How cool is that!
I will also apply topically. For my son we use:
1 drop of Lavender
1 drop of Lemon
1 drop of Pepperment
Rub in the palm of my hand with a little carrier oil. I typically use fractionated Coconut oil (FCO) or Jojoba oil. Then I apply to the bottoms of his feet.
I have also created a Seasonal Support roller blend for my husband. In a 10 ml roller bottle I add:
3 drops of Lavender
3 drops of Lemon
3 drops of Peppermint
Fill the rest of the bottle with FCO
Just apply to the back of the neck, temples and wrists/forearms. Also know that Lemon is photosensitive so avoid direct sunlight on the areas of the skin that you applied topically.
With Young Living essential oils you can also take internally. You can add 2 drops of Lavender, Lemon & Peppermint to a vegetable capsule or directly onto the tongue!
